1. Scope
This policy applies to the exovia align iPhone app, Apple Watch companion, widgets, and exovia care website. The app is a personal organization and visual progress tool, not a medical device or diagnostic service.
2. Information the app uses
You may save names, optional avatars, aligner plans, change records, custom events, notes, photo sets, processed Face and Teeth images, Vision landmarks, preferences, and verified Premium entitlement status. Apple handles payment information.
3. Camera, Photos, and Vision
Camera access is used for guided capture and Photos access only for content you select. Apple technologies process images on device to align and crop face and teeth views. New source images are discarded after processing. Vision is not used for identity or medical analysis.
4. Where data is stored
Data is stored in the app’s private iPhone storage by default. Widgets receive compact plan information through an App Group. Apple Watch receives and caches only the snapshot needed to show a person, current aligner, and countdown.
5. Optional iCloud sync
Premium users can enable CloudKit synchronization through their private iCloud database for profiles, plans, events, saved sessions, avatars, and processed images. Drafts, temporary originals, and device preferences are not uploaded. exovia does not operate a separate content backend.
6. Permissions and Apple services
Features may use Camera, Photos, system alarms, iCloud, background notifications, StoreKit, App Groups, and WatchConnectivity. You can change permissions in iOS Settings.
7. What we do not do
The current app has no advertising or third-party analytics, does not sell personal information, does not use photos to train models or advertise, and does not track wear time, location, contacts, HealthKit, microphone, or motion data.
8. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete records or people, remove the app, or erase the device. Deleting a person removes their plan, events, sessions, and local images. Turning off iCloud sync does not automatically delete existing cloud content.
9. Website privacy
The website has no account forms, advertising cookies, or analytics trackers. Google Fonts and the hosting provider may process ordinary connection and request-log information needed to deliver and secure the site.
10. Families and younger users
If an aligner wearer is a child or cannot manage their own data choices, a parent or guardian should manage the app, permissions, photos, and iCloud settings.
11. Security
Local information uses the iOS sandbox and optional sync uses Apple CloudKit’s private database. Keep your device and Apple Account protected and up to date.
